Nico Georgiades
Nico, a founding member and the current CEO of Jay, obtained his BA (Legal Theory & Institutions and Industrial Psychology) in 1985 and his LLB in 1987 from the University of the Witwatersrand.
After completing his articles at Routledge-Modise (now Hogan Lovells Incorporated) in 1990, he was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 1992 with the Right of Appearance in all courts. In 1994, he established his own practice, which evolved into Jay Mothobi Incorporated.
His areas of expertise include general litigation, insolvency law, banking law, estate planning, labour law, and commercial drafting, with extensive experience in debt recovery, contract disputes, damages claims, business rescue, and related commercial matters.
Nico Hamman
Nico obtained his B.Proc degree from the Rand Afrikaans University (now the University of Johannesburg) in 1996 and completed his articles at Jay in 1997. He was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 1999, with the Right of Appearance in all courts, and became a shareholder and director of the firm in 2001.
His practice focuses on general litigation, including debt recovery, contractual and delictual damages claims (often linked to fraud investigations), commercial lease disputes, and factoring and invoice discounting. He also specialises in insolvency law, covering sequestration, liquidation, insolvency enquiries, and business rescue, as well as banking law involving secured and unsecured debt recovery. In addition, he has extensive experience in commercial drafting, preparing a wide range of agreements including master, loan, sale, rental, service, supplier, credit, suretyship, and electronic communication agreements.
Kabelo Mothobi
Kabelo obtained his B.Proc and LLB degrees from the University of the North, now the University of Limpopo.
He was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 1983. After practising independently until 1991, he joined Eskom as a legal advisor and later moved to its Distribution Group in 1996. In 2001, he was appointed Special Advisor to the Minister of Mineral and Energy Affairs, focusing on electricity supply and distribution matters. He became General Counsel to the National Energy Regulator of South Africa in 2004 and later that year joined Jay as a director.
Kabelo is currently semi-retired, but remains actively involved in the firm’s management. His areas of practice include general litigation, debt recovery, breach of contract, damages claims, human rights law, criminal law, and family law.
Sharlotte Rama
Sharlotte obtained her BA degree in 2011 and her LLB in 2013 from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She completed her articles at Subhash Maikoo and Associates in 2014 and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2016, with the Right of Appearance in all courts. She joined Jay in 2019 as a professional assistant and became a shareholder and director in 2023.
Her practice focuses on general litigation, including debt recovery, fraud-related matters, contractual and delictual damages claims, and commercial lease disputes. She also has experience in banking law, representing financial institutions in secured and unsecured lending matters, and in insolvency law, handling sequestration, liquidation, and insolvency enquiries. Additionally, she advises on administrative law reviews, drafts a wide range of commercial agreements, and provides estate planning services, including the drafting of antenuptial contracts.
Quentin Olivier
Quentin began his career with the Department of Justice in 1992 while studying part-time at UNISA, completing his B.Juris in 1994. He went on to earn his LLB from the University of Pretoria in 1997 and completed his articles at Tim du Toit & Company, becoming an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 1999 with Right of Appearance in all courts. After serving as a professional assistant at Routledge-Modise (now Hogan Lovells), he joined Jay in 2000 to specialise in forensic investigations and related litigation, becoming a shareholder and director in 2001. His extensive practice includes forensic investigations into commercial fraud, asset tracing, and financial regulatory matters; administrative law and review proceedings; general litigation involving contractual, delictual, and commercial lease disputes; insolvency law, including sequestration, liquidation, and asset seizure; and banking law, covering debt recovery, structured finance, and securitisation. He also has experience in estate planning and drafting a wide range of commercial agreements.
Anthony Strydom
Anthony obtained his B.Com in 2002 and LLB in 2004 from the Rand Afrikaans University (now the University of Johannesburg). In 2005, he joined the University of Saarland in Germany as a research fellow under Prof. M. Martinek before returning to South Africa later that year to complete his articles at Michael Dansky Attorneys. He was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2008 with the Right of Appearance in all courts and joined Jay that same year, becoming a shareholder and director in 2015.
His practice includes general litigation, covering debt recovery, contractual and delictual claims, fraud-related litigation, sectional title disputes, evictions, and commercial lease matters. He also specialises in insolvency, administrative, and insurance law, handling sequestration, liquidation, enforcement, and review proceedings. In addition, he represents financial institutions in banking litigation, including debt recovery, floorplan disputes, and debt review or reckless lending matters, and provides estate planning and commercial drafting services across a range of agreements.
Roshal Ramchunder
Roshal obtained her LLB from the University of South Africa in 2018 and completed her articles at Femida Amod Attorneys in 2019. She was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2020 and subsequently joined Nerisha Ramgoolam Incorporated in Edenvale as a professional assistant in 2021. After qualifying as a conveyancer in 2023, she joined Jay in that capacity.
Her practice focuses on conveyancing, including the drafting of specialised sale agreements, registration and cancellation of property transfers and mortgage bonds, as well as estate planning through the preparation and registration of antenuptial contracts. She is also experienced in the administration of estates, encompassing the drafting of wills and trust deeds and the winding up of deceased estates.
Lebohang Baloyi
Lebohang obtained his LL.B. degree from the University of the Free State in 2020 and completed his Practical Vocational Training at Sesele Attorneys from 2021 to 2023, where he gained broad experience in general litigation. His work included civil and criminal litigation, drafting pleadings, managing municipal debt collection portfolios, and appearing in court and before the CCMA. He was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in April 2023. Subsequently, he joined Louw, Genis & Rajoo Incorporated, specialising in corporate debt recoveries and assisting international clients with GDPR and POPIA compliance through data protection advisory work. He joined Jay Mothobi Incorporated in 2025 as a Professional Assistant, supporting a director in a civil litigation and banking law practice. His work includes handling pleadings, research, client communication, and full file management, with experience across evictions, police bail applications, labour matters, VAF and post write-off recoveries, business account collections, and customer complaint resolution

Office Location
Our geographical location places us within the territorial jurisdiction of the Gauteng Local Division of the High Court of South Africa, the Johannesburg Central Magistrates’ and Regional Court (Johannesburg) and the Johannesburg North Magistrates’ Court (Randburg). Both the Johannesburg Deeds Registry Office and the Receiver of Revenue are also speedily accessible, and although the Pretoria Deeds Registry Office is outside of our immediate vicinity, we make weekly attendances to attend to lodgements of property transfers and notarised documents.
